Industrial premises are where fire risk assessment and DSEAR most often need to be handled together. Flammable liquids, LPG, solvents, dust-generating processes, battery charging and hot works all appear routinely, and a fire risk assessment on its own does not discharge the DSEAR duty. We flag clearly where a separate DSEAR assessment is required rather than leaving a gap in your compliance file.
The other defining feature is scale. Long travel distances in large open volumes, racking that obstructs escape routes, and mezzanines added without reassessing the fire strategy are recurring findings across almost every warehouse we assess.
